I replaced my stereo system in my 2001 jetta (1.8T) and the CEL came on afterwards?

I put a double din dvd deck in my jetta and as soon as I drove after changing it the check engine light came on??

Aftermarket radios are known to cause nightmares in the VW world. They will many times short out & damage the code reader too. I am unsure if it's the adaptor kit or what. A Google search will probably get you the right answer.

try running a VAG com software and see if you can get a code error number and go from there. go to vwvortex forum for more post and info on that subject helped me a lot when I was dealing with my Mass Air flow sensor...VW's are POS in my personal opinion...I have a 01' jetta... need i say more?
