Could be any of the following....your battery, battery cables, starter, starter relay. Always check the easy stuff first. Clean the connections at the battery and the starter.

I have the same problem with my car also and it is a 2012 Chrysler 200, I think it must be a defect in the car. I replaced the battery and it started and worked for about an hour of driving time and now it will only run with the jumper cables hooked up to it.

I had the same problem. Check the jumper posts located by the fuse box. make sure all connections are clean and tight. I found my connection to be a little loose and dirty, after a quick wrenching and cleaning..... All is fixed. For now.
