Blown Head Gasket???

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The problem started with sputtering while idling in drive or park (auto). I now notice white smoke out
of tailpipe. Constantly filling antifreeze...drained and using water. It sputters when warm and runs
hotter than usual, which started when the sputtering started. Pressing accelerator does nothing when
it fusses like that. I have also now noticed smoke coming from the bottom of the front exhaust
header. Not coming from the header but under it where I cannot see. I have also noticed in my overfill
the water turning slightly brownish. Could this be a head gasket issue. I plan on doing a compression
test to be certain but do not want to spend the money on the test kit if it could be possibly
something else. Thank for any help here!

Using coolant, white exhaust smoke, overheating, bubbles rising in the coolant reservoir - all signs of a blown head gasket.
