what should I check for code P0441 on a 2006 dodge stratus?

my engine light comes on and gets code P0441...light does not stay on for long and there is no driveability issues...however, when idle, the engine sometimes sputters as if it wants to die but never does...when it's spttering and I hit the gas it hesitates as if it's not getting the gas it needs to take off...

P0441 DODGE - EVAP Purge System Performance - Possible causes - Missing Fuel cap - Incorrect fuel filler cap used - Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close - Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap - Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve

where is the fuel filler cap located...is this a part of the gas cap?
