Charging system

This morning I started my car and when I got to
worked I turned it off and when I tried to turn it
back on it didn't want to start, I jump started the
car and it turned on but when I took off one of the
terminals of the battery it turned off again, could it
be the battery or the alternator.

Agree, I jumped off my chair when I read you took off a terminal while engine was running. You like to spend money...
