Why does the radio/nav/cd player blackout, Only allowing to use one feature and control the volume?

I don't know, mine is doing the same. I just found out that I need it replaced. They can only replace it with a refurbished radio/cd/ nav system. It isn't cheap and it's used. Poor quality products.
