Service Stabiltrak

Asked by Guru13MZD Oct 02, 2019 at 12:17 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Impala LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When starting the car I sometimes get a service stabiltrak warning. If it stays
on and I shift into reverse I get loud clunk. There is no gear selection
indicator present and door locks do not function automatically. When I shift
into drive it appears to be stuck in one gear. I can clear the problem by
disconnecting the negative terminal and unplugging the TCM cable for a
period of time.
There are no indications while driving of a problem (ie grinding flashing
warnings) so don't think I have a sensor or wiring problem. Believe it may be
a failing module. Is my logic sound and if so how do I change it?
