Check the internet for complaints about this issue and they are everywhere. I think its a computer problem but dealerships act as if they can not find anything and no recalls. This is what has been determined, Since the great Bail out they have also benefited by not having to deal with recalls only very seldom, many more complaints then the other car makers sold while those have recalls sent out by regulation from our gobberment for just 1 or 2 complaints and at the same time Chevy has Hundreds if not thousands of complaints with few recalls and some have even died.

I would stay away from 2008 up Chevy's even though the new trucks look cool. Let them prove they stand behind their products first. If they get 1 or 2 complaints then gobberment should treat them just as the other car makers have been treated and send out recalls on them too instead they have hundreds of complaints on multiple issues with some cars that have yet to receive a recall on it..
