Asked by Guru5LYRR Jan 13, 2018 at 05:23 PM about the 2011 RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck was having intermittent starting issues ( it
would just crank and not start) now it won’t start at
all. It has progressively gotten worse, now it will just
click sometimes and other times it will start but
immediately die? Anyone else have these issues?

I finally got back out to mess around with my truck and look into it further. The asd relay is clicking when the key is turned either to acc or run. The butterfly inside the throttle body is also clicking ( opening slightly then closing) if I remove asd relay it all stops.

I unplugged the battery and plugged back in. It started up. But my key fob shit out and I can only use it as a key. Tried replacing the battery but I need a new one. Feeling like it's related

Am having this issue with my 2011. Watched a video where the guy talked through the problem. Replacing the whole Tipum for that tiny little relay?! Somebody was doing the doobies that day. Looks like I’m finding a bypass.

Take the fuse block apart in front of the battery. The relay for the fuel pump is soldered on the circuit board. That gets a lose connection . resolder it and you will be fine.
