How to repair a leaking sunroof

Asked by Guru9J3P8V Oct 29, 2023 at 06:46 PM about the 2012 Ford Escape Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a used 2012 ford escape and I took it
through the car wash. It was good until the
heavy water was over on top of the sunroof and
the water starting pouring through. What is the
cause of this and how can I get it fixed

Check the seal and the drains, one of my rigs only leaked going through a car wash and it was the seal.

The drains are surely clogged and you can find the end of the drains under the car & clean out the debris blocking flow. Then there's the seal. In a ten year old car, that might be need to be replaced, but more likely, it's just an adjustment. Those motors and slides get dirty and get out of adjustment, and that might be all you need to do.
