2012 Eco Transmission Hesitates Going Into Drive

Asked by Karl Nov 25, 2015 at 09:08 AM about the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 Cruze has 85K miles on it, and I just had the transmission cooler
lines replaced.   The original owner had leaky lines for years and just kept
topping it off.  No idea what fluid he/she was using.  My mechanic had to
scrape the caked-on fluid off the engine shield with a putty knife and the old
lines were also caked with it.  Lines are replaced and tranny topped-off.
Now, it doesn't go into drive when cold for a couple seconds.   No way to
check level, so thinking of adding half a quart of Amsoil Signature Series
Fuel-Efficient Synthetic Auto Trans Fluid and see if going into drive delay is
solved.  Can that fluid be mixed with Dexron VI?  Then add rest if not and
test drive again.

I have also scheduled a transmission service at local GM dealer next week where they will drain and refill fluid, change filter. I'm thinking the filter might be a bit dirty, also.

Never heard of the trans fluid you are talking about but I do know that Lucas Transmission Fix works great also.

STICK with manufacture recommended fluids which are listed in your car manual that came with car. SIMPLE,,,,Also what ever the codes read ,,,replace the sensors or what ever it says to replace,,,thats why it read that code to lead you in right direction. If you are lazy and do not want to open the car manual ,,,Google the recommended fluids for your car. This is just to easy.
