remote sensor not responding

I bought a new key for my chevy cruze eco 2012. the key came from GM in the USA to Ghana. whent it came it has been programmed to the car and it starts well but the remote side is not working. can it be rectified?

I have not tried changing the battery though but i checked the strength of the battery and there was life in the battery. So i dont know if i should change it.

It is not answer its a question,i have aproblem with my chev cruze key remote,i am using it manual,just to lock and unlock,i cannot use the buttons.
