I have a 2008 subaru impreza 2.5i and got a set of
are em9s for free 5x100/ 5x114.3  issue is my
wheel studs are about 3/4 of an inch too short now
and not sure what to do now.  Was told it wasn't
safe to buy extended studs for various reasons but
still not sure who to listen to.

unsafe to buy extended studs? another inch isn't going to hurt anything. I'm assuming stock are pressed in from the back? It'd take some work to change them but I'm sure people have done it safely. Are the wheels hubcentric? You could look into hub rings or just make sure to slowly tighten each lug and take your time getting the rim perfectly centered so it rides smooth.

won't mess with camber...depending on the backspacing on those wheels, it might look the same as stock or might be flush with the wheel wells, etc. just depends. Sounds to me like they're heavy for being that thick. It might affect steering though, 6 point turns anyone?
