White smoke out of the exhaust, coolant on your garage floor or driveway from the center of the car, overheating.

Lots of white exhaust smoke, oil in the water or water in the oil. You may not have all of these symptoms if a head gasket is leaking.

To know for sure, run a compression test, or use a product like Block Tester to check for hydrocarbons in the coolant, keeping in mind not all blown head gaskets leak oil or combustion gases into coolant or coolant into oil.

Also: Coolant looks or sounds like it is boiling, temp gauge rises & fails may go back down when moving or on the gas pedal & back up when stopped. If your oil cap is plastic check the underside for milky oil/coolant sticking to it. Hydrolock. Runs bad. low or no compression. Most times will only have a few symptoms but could be any combination.
