My transmission is bad can I drive it in 2nd or 3rd gear

I have a 2006 Jeep Cherokee Laredo my
transmission is going bad I think when it's in
regular drive it doesn't want to go and nowhere
but when it's in drive to three or four it drops
perfect can I drive my Jeep in the second Drive
on the regular basis

My Jeep does not want to drive when I put it in regular Drive but when I put it in drive to three or four it will drive perfect can I drive my Jeep in one of those gears on the regular basis or do I need to have my transmission replaced or rebuilt

You can drive it like that till it fails and or you save up enough money to rebuild the transmission. Fuel mileage will be lower as well.
