did he get all the air out of the system?? recheck wire on temp sending unit ..replace sending unit and add a small bottle of WATER WETTER...

I have a 2006 and had a very similar thing happen. Upon starting, the needle would indicate hot and other warning lights would come on and then as quickly as it happened it went back to normal. Never got hot. It turned out to be low on antifreeze.
