Nothing when turn key

Asked by Rob Sep 25, 2023 at 02:46 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Express 2500 LS Fleet RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn key I have no power ,no dash no crank no
start no headlights no hazards
Battery is fine just added grounds from chassis to
motor. cleaned ground from battery to chassis
Have positive  at alternator
Possible short when key is turned (has done before
but only untill I turn the key a 2nd time)

Not sure if it could be related but the wires on top of
the gas pedal create I believe a tps problem where the
reduced power light comes on until I turn off the van
and wiggle the wires only happened once in a while
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am dead in
the water ( my only vehicle and stuck on side of road)
Thanks

I've virtually always found your problem related to a dead starter solenoid or one that has a burned spot where the brushes land and won't conduct current. It ight also be a loose or broken battery cable. Try starting the car and whack the solenoid with a wooden or plastic hammer handle to jar it.
