Cobvertable top motor 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertable

Asked by Gini Feb 12, 2018 at 11:55 AM about the 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A few months ago while putting the top up
on my Sebring, there was a spray of hydrolic
fluid from over the driver side of the top.
Since then we haven't been able to put the
top down.   Today while driving in 40 degree
weather, I heard what sounded like the
Cobvertable top motor engaging, I heard the
"whine" you hear before the top actually
moves.  I was not touching the top down
button.  What could this be and is it a
problem?  Also, how do I fix the top

Fix the hydraulic leak and top off the fluid. It could be a bad hose or hydraulic cylinder.
