Why is my car stalling and backfiring

Why does when i drive car it
backfires  and stalls  then goes
dead

I would check your timing belt for sure. Your timing belt could have skipped a couple of teeth or your tensioner could be going bad. Usually when your vehicle starts back firing its something to do with timing. Camshaft and crankshaft not in time>
