2002 Chrysler Sebring when idle

Asked by Michael Dec 10, 2014 at 11:22 AM about the 2002 Chrysler Sebring LX Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Whenever I am driving it can fluctuate but if I stay below approximately 2500 RPM
my temp will skyrocket. Also my heat in my cabin doesn't turn on unless this event
happens... It almost seems like my engine isn't purging its hot air properly? Irk.

It could be a few different things. Bad thermostat, plugged radiator and/or heater core(have you ever added stop leak to the engine coolant system?) the electric cooling fans on the radiator are not turning on, an air pocket in the engine cooling system or a blown head gasket/head. I would have it looked at by a REPUTABLE mechanic ASAP.
