is it bad to drive my 02 chrysler 300m if thermostats gone/going bad at short distances...before it starts to overheat cause more damage?

Well, no, but you are talking 3-4 minutes tops But it's a $5 thermostat and easy to change It doesn't have to overheat to begin to cause problems

me personly would not drive it unless i have no other choice it could cause more problems later like above coment if ur good with tools i would look up on youtube how to change it and buy the part and do it its not hard chrysler dodge and plymouth are very easy to work on

Your engine is TOAST when you reach 150K at best... drive it while you can. Go to a salvage yard. There a lot of beautiful Chrysler cars there with the 3.5L engine
