Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi so I have a 2005 Ford Mustang. The check
engine light was on showing I needed a new
egr valve. So I replaced it. Now the check
engine light is showing for code P0403, can
someone tell me what might be causing it and
how can I go about fixing it?

There is no such code that says, "replace EGR valve." Just because EGR is mentioned in the code doesn't mean the valve is bad. For example, P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction means there's a circuit problem. So you should get a shop manual and see what the specs are for the current and readings for the EGR circuit and then test at the connector to see if the problem is a wiring harness issue, bad connection, open, etc.
