Should we repair top prior to selling our 2001 Mustang?

Asked by Mustang_Lover Dec 03, 2016 at 08:35 PM about the 2001 Ford Mustang Convertible RWD

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

We have a 2001 Ford Mustang convertible with around 84,000 miles.  Mechanically it's in excellent condition.  We'd like to sell it but the top needs some repairs.  For one, it leaks and also it does not go up and down automatically.  Should we get this repaired or sell as is?  What's the cost for such repairs?

1 Answer

Both the top and the mechanism being bad will scare off a lot of buyers who don't have the two or three grand or so to fix it after buying the car especially now that winter is here.
