Airbags deployed. Is my car totaled?

Asked by Nicole Oct 27, 2015 at 02:39 AM about the 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I got in a pretty bad wreck today. I was
traveling about 40mph on a main road and
someone pulled out of a side street and
attempted to make a left hand turn. I
couldn't avoid them and I hit them head on
in their drivers side. My drivers airbag
immediately deployed. My drivers door had
trouble opening and made a creaking sound.
Also my hood is bent and my bumper and
grill is completely off. I also notice the frame
is bent in to where it damaged the radiator.
Is my car totaled? I'm guessing it is but
someone said it's fixable.

Base on the cost of the repair and the resale valve of your car, yes its totaled...

Your insurance places a value on your car and if the repair exceeds 60% (I think) they total it

Front bumper messed up and fender and my frame was bent in one spot . I think it could be bended back and reinforced . This was like 2 months ago . I miss it but it will take time to pursue getting my money because progressive selfish
