Coolent still bubbling n sound from engine

Coolent bubbling in reserve. Chg ed thermostat,
coolent, radiator cap. Still bubbling.  Mechanic  
said showed sign of head gasket blown suggested
blue devil. Car ran 20 mins n bubbling again. Also
small sound n engine like a tapping noise

Mechanic may have been right, I see no reason to doubt him/her, blown head gasket, noise from valve train or cams or lower end of motor, no real way of knowing without a thorough inspection of motor.
