Y would my 2012 focus stop running and not start after the battire went dead

if the battery is dead it wont start if you jump it with a dead battery it might start but as the battery is dead or has a poor charge the alternator will overheat the internal voltage regulator inside trying to charge the dead battery and keep the car running.

Make sure it’s in park, and displaying on the dash P, it will probably need a transmission control module, the module is covered by Ford 10 years or 150k miles
