Water keeps coming out through the thermostat cap.

I have a '05 Sebring convertible 4 cylinder. It over heats and the coolant
comes out the radiator cap which also houses the thermostat. Could it be
water pump went bad. Please help

I think this one is for a professional to look at, for the fact you say it has overheated, I'd be worried about warped heads, cracked head, causing bad head gaskets, or it may be a simple as to replace the thermostat and burp the cooling system.
