how much should it cost to replace a sebring engine?

and how do I tell what type of engine it is? the original engine only had 60k miles on it and a rod  broke. Now mechanic wants to put in a engine with 100k miles onit- does this seem right??

the mechanic wants to charge $2800. I think thats for everything. I know its 2.7 engine but I don't the rest.

I have a 2005 crysler Sebring & this mechanic is trying to charge us 2800$ Is that too much?

You can have the whole car for 500.00. Just need a tow truck. Can test in the driveway. Has been a reliable car. Kept up with all maintenance. 4403070031. Located in Conway SC . 1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible 2.5 . Strong engine, transmission, body.
