There are 3 common reasons for this problem, binding steering column/lock, an ignition switch issue, or a problem with the ignition key. If your battery charge is low, the electronic ignition switch will not work. Check the battery and make sure that it is in good condition and that terminals are clean and tight. Make sure that the key is not bent, a bent key, even slightly, will not work in modern electronic ignition switches. If the switch has developed a problem, you will have to call a mechanic or locksmith that knows how to work on this type of ignition switch.
