Won't turn over to start. Locked in Park

Asked by Ted-Judy Mar 09, 2019 at 11:52 PM about the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Roadster RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stopped to raise top and shut engine off. Turn ignition on and all lights came
on, radio & all but top motor would not operate. Could not get out of Park.
Starter would not turn over. Spoiler was up and would not retract. Red
flashing light on spoiler switch.Battery checked good, even placed jumper on
it. NOW: lights all come on, but top motor won't start, spoiler motor will not
start, starter will not engage, and will not move out of Park. Can't push or tow
the car. Can't raise top to keep rain out.. What now, folks??

I’ve just encountered that problem this morning. Spoiler up ABS BAS MIL (suggests low voltage as happens with alternator failure) lights on stuck in park and won’t start. I suspect the alternator is is fluctuating and sending incorrect voltage to the rcm. Although the battery is charged, it could also be causing the issue. I’ll start by swapping the battery over, the n check the main power cables on the starter motor.
