I have a alert of p-0700 on 06 chrysler 300. I have read it might be a
transmission control module. Could it be anything different? Where is
located? Do you just plug in or is programming needed?

The code means there's an issue involving your Transaxle Control Module (TCM). This could be any number of issues up to and including a bad TCM module itself. You'll need to have this issue resolved at a dealership or professional mechanic.
