eng. cranks but no start

Asked by GuruX69P Apr 08, 2017 at 10:03 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

drove home, next morning would not start.  gauge was just under 1/2 tank.
battery seemed a little low, tried jump starting; no success.  checked wiring /
connections at fuse / relay box found dirty and loose contacts, cleaned and
repaired.  checked FPCM, okay, no fuel pressure,  replaced fuel pump
module ,  Crank sensor.  checked VTD, seems okay (any ideas?)

Back to basics ... if it's got a spark (at the right time) ..and fuel going into the cylinder ,,, and good compression ,,the rules of science says that it must start ... what are you missing? Did the fuel pressure return when you replaced fuel pump module or did you just change it to eliminate it being a problem? You going to assume nothing and check everything
