how to put a valve lifter in a 2011 Chev 1500 truck do you have to remove the head or can
you just remove the intake and remove it that way

I can say that since this is a pushrod engine you don't have to take the heads off. That's universal. click for full screen

Says heads, exhaust manifold must come off.Because the cylinder heads overlap the valve lifter area That will learn me to jump in to things I don't know. The heads come off on a pushrod engine?? I defer to somebody that knows

Yes, on the ls family of engine the heads have to be removed to change a lifter. The retainer is only accessible after the head is removed.
