2011 Murano LE AWD and the engine revved high while running

Asked by Guru2JSK3 Sep 10, 2020 at 01:50 AM about the 2011 Nissan Murano LE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 Murano LE AWD and the engine sounds like it is
revving high when driving, however, at park and 1st gear it
idle nice and quiet.  When I release the gas paddle, it goes
back to about 650 rpm.
When I'm in 2nd gear and higher, I release the gas paddle
but the idle is over 1000-1500 rpm.

Have you had the CVT transmission fluid drained and refilled? It sounds as though the fluid may have deteriorated to the point where the transmission isn't working properly.
