door is hard to close. How do I repair?

The drivers door does not close properly requires a lot of force to close. How
can it be adjusted?

On a car that's over thirty years old, I'd suspect that rust or damage has affected the hinges. See if bolts are loose or rust has destroyed the area. Next, I'd suspect body damage and a poor repair job.
