2011 Nissan Altima 2.5S, possible to replace engine with V6 3.5L?

Asked by Stormwalker Dec 20, 2016 at 05:55 PM about the 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Car Customization

I was wondering if it would be feasible to replace the 2.5L I4 engine with the
3.5L V6, and then possibly turbocharged. Would the car have to be
extensively modified to accommodate these changes? Would the
transmission have to be replaced or upgraded? Thanks a ton for your time

That would be a lot of work, it might be cheaper and better in the long run to sell your car and buy one with the options you want. You would have to check if the tranny could work with both engines, at least to bolt up. If not buy an engine/tranny combo to drop in, you'd have to install new motor/tranny mounts, replace the engine's computer and have it flashed to existing vin/odometer, check if the current brakes/suspension need to be upgraded for newer motor, you'd also be looking at replacing most of the exhaust.

Engine swaps are not easy like they were in the good old days in the 50's and 60's. Too many complications and computer crap to deal with. Buy a car with the engine and options you want.

I have an 2004 Infiniti g35 with a blown 3.5l engine. I found a good cheap engine to put in it hits it's only a 2.5 from a Nissan Altima. Is it possible to do that?
