you changed the right switch? The brake light switch is located on the master cylinder behind the front left wheel well panel.

The brake light switch is at the connection point of the master cylender push rod and the brake peddle. It is also the only part listed as a brake light switch at any parts store. I also ran tests of the first one after I pulled it and it has no issues. had to use nylon ties and a 1/2 inch wrench to hold it in to confim the normaly open and closed fuctions, but it was ok.

Let me correct this before it becomes an issue. The switch is at the push rod the goes to the power assist not the master cylinder.

you need to confirm that the switch is transfering power out of it?are all 5 wires ok tight(plug)did you do that..know you changed it but..also .2011 Ford Ranger Recall Item Affected: EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKE LIGHTS Date Announced: 07/13/2011 Description of Recall: FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 RANGER TRUCKS BUILT FROM JANUARY 25, 2011, THROUGH APRIL 25, 2011 AT THE TWIN CITIES ASSEMBLY PLANT, AND SERVICE PARTS DISTRIBUTED TO DEALERS FOR CERTAIN 2004 THROUGH 2011 MODEL YEAR RANGER TRUCKS, 2002 THROUGH 2005 MODEL YEAR EXCURSION VEHICLES, AND 2002 THROUGH 2007 MODEL YEAR F-250, F-350, F-450, AND F-550 TRUCKS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." Yes I knew about the recall, and me changing it was faster than next week for them. It is like recall 11c something. Anyway that is not the issue. I made sure of the conections when I replaced each item. Ford had wire issues for decades with a simple connection in the back toasting and ya lost marker lights on the rear. Cut & splice the bron wire at plug by the right rear part of bumper. and so on. It is just my luck to had a odd ball issue that is not a google cut-n-paste.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue? I'm having the same problem with my '11 4x4.
