New alternator just quit charging

Bought 2 alternator went down
the road a pop sound not loud
then all lights on dash came on
want charge battery I'm not a

Bought 2alternators and it just seems like it makes all the likes come on and drains the battery made little pop sound before the lights came on the dash what is making it do this
