why does my cd playier cut off wen i get to a high volume

This happens because the power going to the speakers is taking away from the power that is required to work the C.D. player. Basically the old, worn out electrical componants in your stereo are robbing power from the system. Only fix is to lower volume to a level that the radio can handle or replace the radio, and or the C.D. player if it is a separate unit.
