need help!

I have a 2011 Jetta SE 2.5
I started the car after work and plugged in my lighter. there was a metal earing in the slot and it blew the lighter fuse. the car was still running i replaced the fuse and it blew again. I rechecked the lighter found that I had not cleared it I turned off my car and replaced the fuse again and triedto start the car it would turn over fine but wont start, I do not hear the fuel pump when i cycle the on off without starting.
