How often for an oil change for a 2011 Sportage? I live in he desert wth extreme summer heat & put about 250 miles per month on the vehicle.

The car has 37,333 miles on it & is in excellent condiditon.  I was told every
5,000 miles but conflicting answeres a to how many months as I don't put
many miles on the Kia.

Do you have an owners manual? You can get one at www.helminc.com All that information is in there, follow it. The manual is a much better source than trusting your car to a bunch of unknown people on the car forums. Now for my opinion, I would use synthetic oil in it and change it at 7,500 miles or 1 year which ever comes first. In your case change it once a year. Use the manufacturers recommended weight oil. i think its beter to change every 3000 miles.
