Asked by GuruT64N9 Jul 17, 2018 at 05:25 PM about the 1997 Cadillac DeVille d'Elegance Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car wouldnt crank or turnover. I took intake off and
got to starter. Took red wire off starter and its all
blue and corroded looking . Do you think this is the
problem or should i replace starter. Thanks in
advance

I would replace wire first however the starter will most likle need to be replaced as well

Agree but be sure to clean the starter connection before you put on the new wire. If it fixes the issue, I would hold off replacing the starter.

I went ahead and pulled starter out to get it tested and notices that it slide in and out without any force. So yes its gone lol been in there since 97 i suppose. It had agood run. Do you guys recommend going back with ac delco or is any starter fine? Thanks in advance.
