Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I READ ON LINE THAT IF YOU HAVE A SERPENTINE BELT IT REQUIRES A SPECIAL WATER PUMP THAT TURNS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. DO THE 1998 ETC 4.6L V8 HAVE A SERPENTINE DRIVE BELT?

Well the Northstar 4.6L engine has a water pump that is indeed drive by a belt, however it is not the main drive belt that runs it. If you open your hood and look at the engine by standing in front of it, it is by the front on the driver's side driven by the intake camshaft. There is a small belt with a tensioner that drives it.
