Possible crank sensor? That's just a guess. And I am not quite sure where it is on that car.

could be the sending unit at the fuel pump , it'll charge the system for start up but then doesn't power up for "run" , check relays , fuses and power and ground at the tank before dropping it

It was running real rough for a week or two then shit off wouldn't crank...I've replaced fuel pump spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, motor flush, ignition control module...ignition control module was bad so I bought crank sensor bit haven't replaced it yet but really just frustrated

instead of buying all those parts that didn't help you could have bought spark and fuel pressure testers , now your right back where you were basically , are the injectors firing ? is the EGR working right ? What did the plugs look like ?

Spark plugs were black on some of them but 4 of the 8 were literally hand tight

the black plugs indicate -- I think weak spark , ( i don't have that problem ) but there is a chart , loose plugs and you loose compression . Start with the basics .

are the loose wires burnt or broken ? If they have a disconnect that is not un common to find a wire or two like that

I had a similar issue with my 2003 Escalade. It turns out that my cigarette lighter plug shorted 2 fuses and somehow activated the anti theft which caused it to immediately turn off after cranking it on. It also disabled both of my remote controls. Once the fuses and and computer was reset the truck turned on without a problem.
