Water pump

Asked by Spokane47 Nov 26, 2017 at 01:02 AM about the 2002 Cadillac Seville STS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

OK I replaced the belt for the water pump
tension pulley and it got smoked ate the
main pulley up so I fixed the main pulley and
put tension pulley and belt on started the
car and noticed smoke coming from below
tension pulley thinking it could of been
coming from the water pump pulley cuz it
was probably eating the belt. So u guessed
it smoked the main pulley again.. Is the
water pump pulley supposed to spin freely
while car is off and no belt on it?

Thanks guys ya water pump does not spin so it's the water pump thank you for the text back thanks
