2002 cadillac deville

Asked by Sweetnsassie Jul 07, 2019 at 08:57 PM about the 2002 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Combustion test done...head gaskets good.  Car overheats
as soon as you get on it.  Local driving...35 to 40 mph its
fine.  Going up hill or on highway...overheats.  tstat was
bad...replaced it.  Tranny fluid was low...added.

Brand new radiator and hoses, new tstat. With Snap on computer plugged in...cap and funnel on overflow tank...tank bubbles up into the funnel...gets up to 222...fans come on...antifreeze sucked back in temp goes right back down to 204-208. Only overheats under load...but...we just hooked up the computer tonight...ran it down the street in D3...not OD...up hills...45 mph...didnt overheat...leaning maybe toward water pump? Or unfortunately TCC? But car shifts completely fine. No codes either. Even when it overheats.
