2011 Subaru Outback warning lights

Asked by GuruF6T1Q May 03, 2020 at 12:25 PM about the 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 outback. Cruise and brake lights blink
while ABS and check engine steady on. Had a
complete tune up and light stayed off fir a
couple days. Now giving a code saying
catalytic converter is bad? Is that expensive?

What I did was clean the MAF sensor and the Throttle body . ( there are several kits available with both spray cans ) That put the lights and the codes to rest for me . I had blown the engine and filled the exhaust with oil so I ran (several times) bottles of catalytic converter cleaner (one per tank full) thru before I used the spray cans to clean the MAF and TB . This is much cheaper than a new cat.converter .
