What is wrong with my 2011 FORD FUSION?

Asked by Guru3KC57 Jul 12, 2020 at 12:16 PM about the 2011 Ford Fusion SEL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just had brakes and rotors installed and car ran fine for a week then had a
problem with moving car.  Backed up in driveway slowly put foot on brake,
heard loud clunk, put in drive and it was locked up.  Stepped on gas and the
engine revved up then it released and went forward.  Tried to go forward
again went forward slowly, locked up again and won't move forward or
reverse. Had it towed , mechanic says not a brake problem, might need a
new transmission, raised car off ground and all wheels turn. Could the
mechanic be wrong, he did the brake job?

If it was the brakes, the engine wouldn't have revved up. I'd say transmission. Is it leaking fluid?
