I'd trace the wire from your horn and see if it was inadvertently damaged once the alternator was set up. In case you have a voltmeter, you could remove the horn fuse and verify to view if there is continuity between the horn (non sizzling side) on the fuse as well as the car body. This would indicate a short within the wire operating from your fuse box for the horn. It is possible to also seem all around the alternator mounting location to view if any wires are getting pinched. Hope this assists. or check out this article: http://www.autopartsdiagrams.com/makes/2010-ford-escape-horn-relay-location.html

F24 passenger side fuse was ok, relay was clicking (faint click, listen for this), power to horn ok, watched YouTube clip on how to remove front cover for access - cleaned male spades on connector - solved the issue. The driving lamp is in there as well, don’t unhook it - if it’s burnt out good time to fix both. My problem was related to ac repair at local garage - didn’t get crap hooked up properly. Horn & lamps both sides.....
