all lights on my trunk lid are out .no brake lights.no backup lights.no marker lights

i used a test light and ran a separate ground and touched it to the bulb socket  
and it lite up.my question is can i run a new ground wire that is common to all
the lights on the trunk and which wire can i tie into or is there a simpler
way.thanks

Follow wires along trunk lid usually where it bends and u most likely find a broken ground
